Marmelosin,
isolated from the fruits, exhibited anthelmintic
properties against hookworm (Nippostrongylus
muris) infection on animals. Marmelosin was
further tested on experimentally ankylostoma-infected
rats and was found to possess significant anti-hookworm
property.
