An article in the Daily Mail makes the provocative argument that size does really matter — and the larger it is, the more it may matter.
In fact, those lucky gals who enjoy “frequent vaginal orgasms” may be hitting the proverbial high note regularly because they are intimate with men who possess ample equipment.
The Daily Mail article gets its suggestive thrust from the findings contained in a recent study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
The study, which was conducted by psychology researchers at the University of the West of Scotland, relied on answers taken from approximately 320 women.
The women were asked about their sex lives in detail and to assess how the size of a man’s penis factored into whether or not they experienced an orgasm during vaginal intercourse. (They were not asked, however, how the use of the term “vaginal intercourse” affected their enjoyment of the act but one could speculate that it didn’t help matters.)
The women who reported the most vaginal orgasms were also more likely to be experiencing this moment of magical intensity with a well-endowed man.
How large is just large enough? Get out your rulers, gentlemen. According to the study, the women identified anything longer than the average of 5.8 inches (14.9 cm) to be best. The researchers hypothesized that larger penises may be more likely to bring on a state of ecstasy in women because they cover more ground (not exactly a ground breaking hypothesis).
Women didn’t escape responsibility for their own sexual pleasure, though. The study also had a few rich ideas about the reasons why some women experience orgasm from vaginal intercourse and others don’t. Some experts think that women who reach the zenith of sexual desire from vaginal stimulation may be healthier physically and mentally than those who don’t.
