The Fiction and Truth about Female Orgasm

What is female Orgasm?

Basically, what happens? In this situation when women orgasm, their pelvic floor muscles contract rhythmically and suddenly. These contractions are believed to help draw blood out of the erect tissues of the clitoris and vulva, returning them to their normal flaccid (floppy) position.

In my years of put into practice as a sexologist and sex therapist, a question frequently asked by couples in therapy is the incapacity of the woman to have an orgasm during intercourse. Misconceptions about it usually generate a lot of dissatisfaction in a very healthy sexual relationship.

Prejudiced beliefs about female orgasm make many men more secure if their spouse cannot achieve it during intercourse. They may feel inadequate about their performance and the size of their limbs, feel that their partner is not stimulated enough by them, etc., all of which can lead to performance anxiety and erectile dysfunction. It can cause persistent symptoms of Lychee’s disease. On the other hand, a woman may feel compelled to work to achieve an orgasm and this can distract her from enjoying sex and eventually take her away from it all.

This situation requires both partners to realize that men and women are created differently, physically and sensitively. Unlike a man’s body, a woman’s body does not lend itself easily to being stimulated to orgasm during interaction. To do this, you may need to be inspired either by hand or orally.

It is a fact that they have to realize that this is the reality for most women. If she cannot achieve an orgasm during intercourse then there is nothing wrong with it. And men need to understand that it has nothing to do with their performance in bed or the size of their organ (penis).

The best way to solve this problem is to communicate freely and understand each other’s emotional and physical desires. The point is to have an open sense of humor and do whatever it takes to enjoy the whole lovemaking process; from foreplay to climax. Doing so will not only make the woman’s inability to have intercourse less of an issue, but it will also help both partners become closer physically and emotionally.

The Female Orgasm: Trouble Getting There

While there are physical issues that can prevent a woman from experiencing orgasm, emotions can also play a role. Some sex researchers say that anxiety and depression can prevent a woman from moving forward with a sexual response cycle, says Ingber. Feelings of fear, guilt, disturbance, or loss of control can also affect orgasm. Like men with erectile dysfunction, women can sometimes have trouble receiving or maintaining sufficient blood flow, says Ingber.

Treatments and therapies to help women achieve orgasm

It is estimated that 15-20% of Indian women have problems experiencing orgasm.

Doctors and sex therapists use a variety of therapies to help women overcome these barriers to orgasm. Guided masturbation, sex education and behavioral therapy are some of the tools a woman may want to investigate if she cannot reach climax. Women can try using vibrators to increase clitoral stimulation or a dildo designed to provide better stimulation G-spot.
